Alex's new little table!

Alexander got a little table and a couple of chairs, and I think it is so cute (and useful) how he uses it for his crafts, and sometimes lunch. Just wanted to show it, since I think the picture is cute!

Monster Weather

Today we had the biggest hailstorm I have ever seen. The hail was the size of large marbles, and there was a LOT of it!! Alexander was amazed at the "ice from the clouds in the sky" and the river in our parking lot, and he was worried about our car being "in the river". Of course now - just an hour later its all melting.

Stampede

Every year in early July, people in Calgary suddenly all wear cowboy hats, boots and incredibly loud and obnoxious western wear. It means it's time for Stampede. The cool thing about Stampede is that there are free "stampede breakfasts" everywhere - consisting of pancakes and sausages, along with a country band, games for the kids and things like that. Today Alexander and I left at 8:30 (already been up for almost 3 hrs by then anyways) for our first one this year. He loved the pancakes and "hottie dogs", as well as the toys and balloons. He even got to sit in a firetruck, and meet real firemen. It was a nice start of our day :)

Tigers and Butterflies

We went to the farmers market today, and Emma and Alexander had their faces painted. Nathen wasn't sure about it, but I'm sure he'll do it next year. Are they cute or what??

off to camp

This morning Alexander went to his first day of summer camp. I was all worried that he'd be sad about me leaving him, but noooooooo. As soon as we found his room, he sat down and started coloring, then found a boy and started playing cars. As I was saying bye, he didn't have time to give me a hug, as he had to hurry back to play with his new friend... This makes it seem that preschool won't be a problem this fall.

Oh.. and he doesn't agree that he's at camp. According to him, he's at school. And why is that you wonder? Because he brought his backpack - and school is the ONLY place you bring them apparentlyl. I tried to correct him, but he doesn't seem to believe him... so maybe it is summerschool then :)

He did it!!

I count today as the day that Alexander became officially potty trained. He now only has 0-2 accidents in a day, and he tells us when he needs to go! He is still in diapers at night, but it's great to see his cute little bare butt through his shorts, and his even cuter little-boy underwear.

Like they say in the commercial.. "I'm a big kid now!" He sure is!!

hmmm

Since we are potty training over here, I use all kinds of reasons for why Alexander needs to wear his underwear. One reason is that only boys who wear underwear are allowed to go to school, so he needs to be a big boy so he can go to pre school this fall. Well... now, every time he puts on his underwear, he gets his shoes and begs me to go to school.

Kinda shot myself in the foot there I think - considering school is 2 whole months away..
