Stampede

Every year in early July, people in Calgary suddenly all wear cowboy hats, boots and incredibly loud and obnoxious western wear. It means it's time for Stampede. The cool thing about Stampede is that there are free "stampede breakfasts" everywhere - consisting of pancakes and sausages, along with a country band, games for the kids and things like that. Today Alexander and I left at 8:30 (already been up for almost 3 hrs by then anyways) for our first one this year. He loved the pancakes and "hottie dogs", as well as the toys and balloons. He even got to sit in a firetruck, and meet real firemen. It was a nice start of our day :)
